KUALA LUMPUR, March 14 (Bernama) -- Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Datuk Mohamaddin Ketapi today officiated at the Tourism Malaysia Travel Mart 2019 programme in conjunction with the MATTA Fair 2019 which runs from tomorrow until March 17.
The one-day programme gathered tour operators and tourism product owners and hoteliers under one roof to develop various domestic tourism travel packages together.
Conducted in a business-to-business format, the Travel Mart organised by Tourism Malaysia involved two-way meetings between product owners and hotel from each state and potential buyers who were participating in the MATTA Fair.
In his speech, Mohamaddin said the programme enhanced relations among those involved in the tourism industry and was a commendable business networking platform.
“Cooperation from the tourism industry players is much needed especially to develop tourism packages that are exciting and creative as this would help make Visit Malaysia 2020 a success," he said.
A total of 200 buyers and 60 sellers from around the country took part in today's programme that was estimated to generate a value of RM1 million in sale contracts.
