Nikkiso CE&IG Launches Industry-leading Submerged Ammonia Pump At Gastech 2025

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 9 (Bernama) -- Nikkiso Clean Energy & Industrial Gases Group (Nikkiso CE&IG) has unveiled its next-generation submerged ammonia pump at Gastech Conference, positioning it as the safest and most reliable solution in the industry.

“In response to growing customer demand, we are delighted to launch a pump that directly addresses the most common issues operators face.

“It leads the industry in safety, reliability, maintenance, and performance—core values we have long upheld at Nikkiso,” said Nikkiso CE&IG President of Pumps Division, Emile Bado in a statement.

With demand for ammonia rising in fertiliser production, hydrogen transport, power generation, shipping, and chemical processing, Nikkiso CE&IG’s new pump delivers over 2,500 cubic metres per hour and features a seal-less, copper-free, maintenance-friendly design.

The integrated motor-pump system drastically reduces operational downtime and delivers an impressive mean time between outages of over 16,000 hours.

Designed for maximum safety and durability, the pump eliminates common failure points such as shaft seals and is optimised for use in challenging environments where ammonia is handled as a hydrogen carrier or clean fuel alternative.

The new ammonia pump builds on Nikkiso’s four decades of experience in submersible motor pump technology. It follows recent milestones, including the company’s approval in principle for a new ammonia fuel supply system and the production of over 7,000 canned motor pumps through its parent company, Nikkiso Co.

The company also announced plans to release a liquid ammonia pump for thermal power generation in 2026.

Its Product Manager, Eric Sensat, will deliver live demonstrations of the pump at the Nikkiso CE&IG booth on Sept 10.
