KUALA LUMPUR, April 13 (Bernama) -- Sigma Designs Inc - a leading provider of intelligent system-on-chip solutions for connected smart home IoT have shipped into the smart home market a cumulative lifetime 100 million Z-Wave modules - a top wireless home control technology with over 2400 certified interoperable products worldwide.
Sigma Designs in a statement said the Z-Wave technology also achieved over 90 per cent market penetration.
"The company also highlighted that the recipient of the 100 millionth module was the smart home service provider and long-time customer of Sigma Designs, Vivint Smart Home.
"Vivint was the first to adopt Z-Wave as the home control technology in its panels, deploying certified Z-Wave devices as part of its smart home system to give customers peace of mind and control over their entire home," the statement added.
Chief product operations officer at Vivint Smart Home, Jim Nye said Z-Wave gave customers an integrated smart home system to control their home through a panel, a single mobile application or by using their voice.
"As the longest running service provider customer and an innovator in the smart home and security market, Vivint has designed home security and automation packages that increase safety and convenience for today´s consumer," said vice-president of Z-Wave Business Unit, Sigma Designs Inc, Raoul Wijgergangs.
