KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 1 (Bernama) -- Taiwan's One Town One Product (OTOP) food exhibition will kick off again at the Cheras Sunway Velocity Mall, Kuala Lumpur between Aug 6 and 12.
The event will feature unique products of the 368 townships and cities throughout Taiwan, including the latest food and household products brought by several Taiwanese manufacturers, according to a statement.
The programme aims to promote Taiwan’s history, culture and industrial achievement, as well as enhance product visibility and competitiveness worldwide as it has successfully helped Taiwan-made products enter the Hong Kong, Singapore and the United States (US) markets.
Last year, Malaysia-based food company, Jimrosa Sdn Bhd introduced the OTOP to Malaysia, with the opening of the first OTOP store in Sunway Velocity.
This year’s exhibition, themed ‘My Destiny with Taiwan’ will hold a series of exciting activities including osmanthus jelly making and will demonstrate Taiwan-made products such as clay face masks, micron beauty towel and cat teasers, among others.
Visitors will also have a chance to win exciting prizes including the grand prize of a round-trip ticket from Kuala Lumpur to Taipei during the event.
Launched in 1989, the OTOP is a worldwide initiative by the Small and Medium Enterprise Administration under Taiwan’s Ministry of Economic Affairs, serving as a platform to promote Taiwan’s unique products.
