PETALING JAYA, Sept 22 (Bernama) -- Rotary International District 3300 signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with InnoBiologics Sdn Bhd and Entogenex Industries Sdn Bhd, the project and technology managers, respectively, of the Ministry of Science, Technology & Innovation, or MOSTI’s Komuniti Bebas Denggi (KBD) Programme.
KBD is a social impact programme initiated by MOSTI to realize a new approach to fighting dengue by combining affirmative community engagement by empowering them with innovative tools. The Programme involves instigating engaged activation of targeted communities to fight dengue within their localities. These communities will be empowered with dengue control tools as well as training and knowledge on how to mitigate the spread of this deadly disease. These tools include the feature of a bio-technological innovation, known as Mousticide, which is formulated to substantially reduce the aedes mosquito population by killing them at the larvae stage.
